WHO WE ARE:
We are Mien musicians known as the Kumbaung, which means cliff avalanche. We play various genre of music including Rock, Classic Rock, New Wave, Thai’s Country Rock, and Lao’s Lum Vong. Our music is influenced greatly by heavy metal and rock music of the ‘80s.

OUR HISTORY:
Prior to the ‘80s, having modern Mien musicians, band, music and songs were only an imagination of the Mien community. However, that imagination became a reality as a result of one Mien musician, Mr. Vern Xeng Lee. He introduced modern Mien music to many of his nephews and friends. Subsequently, few modern Mien musical bands were born including Kumbaung, Black Rain, Lingh, Shadow Heart, just to name a few. Read more
